ARCTIC ADAPTATION – COLLABORATION SUPER WEEK
Join us on November 15, 2021 at Rovaniemi, Finland for a full day of discussions and getting to know each other over Arctic adaptation solutions.
The ACAF-project organizes three events prior to the Arctic Spirit 2021 conference taking place at Rovaniemi on November 16-17, 2021.
Our events are:
- International workshop on climate change and multiple use of forest
- How to Survive in the Arctic? Collaborate! ACAF final seminar
- Night at the Arctic – Adaptation dinner
You are welcome to join us in person for all three events, and you can also join us via internet for the events 1 and 2. Please register for all events before 5.11.2021.

Climate change and multiple use of forests – concerns and possible mitigation solutions
Multiple use of forests is an important part of cultures and economies in arctic region, yet little is known about the possible effects of climate change on this mode of forest use. Arctic Network for Climate Adaptation and Food Security (ACAF) – project will arrange an event which will focus to climate change-related concerns brought up by stakeholders involved in multiple use of forests.
When: November 15, 2021 at 9.30 am – 12.30 pm (UTC +2). Coffee, Tea and Arctic breakfast will be served at the venue before the workshop at 9.30 am and the workshop will begin at 10 am.
Where: Korundi culture center, Rovaniemi, Finland and online.

How to Survive in the Arctic – Collaborate!
The final seminar of the ACAF project will focus on the concrete solutions of “survival” in the Arctic in a time of changing climate. Climate change progresses faster in the Arctic regions than elsewhere and the impacts are reality already today.
Join us to discuss adaptation solutions and find new collaborators.

Liity joukkoomme 15. marraskuuta, 2021 Rovaniemelle verkostoitumaan ja keskustelemaan Arktisista ilmastonmuutokseen sopeutumisen ratkaisuista.

Ilmastonmuutos ja metsien monikäyttö – haasteet ja mahdollisuudet
Metsien monikäyttö on keskeinen kulttuurien ja talouden osa-alue arktisilla alueilla. Kuitenkin ilmastonmuutoksen vaikutuksista tähän metsienkäyttömuotoon tiedetään vielä vähän. ACAF-hanke järjestää kansainvälisen työpajan, jossa keskitytään ilmastonmuutoksen aiheuttamiin vaikutuksiin eri toimijoiden näkemysten ja kokemusten kautta.

ACAF hankkeen loppuseminaarissa keskitytään konkreettisiin “selviytymisstrategioihin” arktisella alueella ilmastonmuutoksen aiheuttamien muutosten keskellä. Ilmastonmuutos etenee arktisilla alueilla muita alueita nopeammin ja vaikutukset ovat todellisuutta jo nyt.
Tule mukaan kuulemaan ja keskustelemaan uusista ratkaisuista – ehkä löydät myös uusia yhteistyökumppaneita!
